A huge huge thank you to everyone who came along at the weekend, whether to sail or help, it was a great success and I know that Arthur and Paul were very happy with the way things went. Even the weather performed for us plenty of warm sunshine and moderate winds on Saturday and windier not so warm sunshine on Sunday but no rain! The Club as always pulls together so well at these events both in the pre event organisation and on the day itself - we had 8 visiting boats and originally 6 boats from Castle Semple taking part, but thanks to the generosity of people who have GPs loaning them out it meant we had an extra 3 boats in the water, which gave for a lot of fierce local competition!

The event started in a very Scottish way with a a young piper from Kilbarchan pipe band performing for us prior to the Race briefing. The race officer devised some interesting challenging courses for the 3 races. Once the racing finished on Saturday the competitors were handed beers/soft drinks as they came off the water. Then later on over 30 of us went to the Loch House for a meal which inevitably ended in the Brown Bull........

Sunday started not so warm, but once the bacon rolls had been consumed everyone woke up a bit and we were off for a challenging morning on the water. With the racing finishing around 2.00 pm it was time for more food, followed by an entertaining raffle and the prize giving.

The visitors from south of the border were very generous in their praise of our hospitality, for which we are I believe becoming renown!

As Arthur said yesterday there are too many individuals to name to thank but we couldn't have done it without you!

I know several people were away as it was a bank holiday weekend and were sorry they couldn’t make it - hopefully next time.
