I am sure that Alan would join me in saying that yesterday turned out to be another great day at the Loch and many thanks to all the cadets and their parents supporting from the pontoon which wasn't exactly warm in the morning.

Although the wind was as forecast first thing in the morning it did build a little for the cadets to have some interesting races. A total of 12 cadets took part in various races.

It was great to see was the number of female cadets taking part.

The regatta finished around 1.30pm and boats were hauled out of the water. Shortly after 2pm Tom Arthur MSP for Renfrewshire South arrived. He was profusely apologetic for not appearing on our previous arranged dates. He firstly presented Alan with a framed copy of the Motion he had put before the Scottish Parliament. The Motion congratulated the Club on its successful application to Awards for All for the 2 RS fevas which are now well used by the cadets. He then presented the various prizes to the cadets:

1st in the gold fleet was Tony Fitzgerald
2nd in the gold fleet was Fergus Higgins

1st in the silver fleet was Rebecca Shearer
2nd was Sarah Bell

1st in the Bronze Fleet was Bertie Whiteford

Fergus was named as the Senior Cadet. He replaces Ross McGlennon who has now moved on to Uni etc. although I am sure will down at the club whenever time permits.

Well done to everyone who took part, and many thanks to our sponsors Gael Force Marine for supplying the prizes. Tom Arthur voiced his support for the club and offered to write a letter supporting our application for a new safety boat which will be the focus of our next application for a grant to Awards for All next year (it is not possible to make 2 applications within a 12 month period).

Many thanks also to those who contributed food , much appreciated, and also those who helped clear up, many thanks.
