A huge thanks to everyone who came along yesterday and made it such a successful event (although it has to be said the weather played a big part in this).

So the big news is that so far we have raised around £600 - some people have still to donate/hand in sponsorship money so we should be a bit over this which is a fantastic effort from everyone. Thank you so much. It’s not too late if you weren't able to come along yesterday, we are still accepting donations. If you donated yesterday and didn’t receive a special t-shirt let me know and I will arrange for you to get one. I still have several small t-shirts left, but can order other sizes if needed. Hopefully we can get going on a new slipway /ramp soon. I will keep you updated.

Everyone did their bit yesterday on and off the water which was brilliant - too many people to name!

It was great to see so many young cadets taking part in the pursuit race, although it was a shame we didn’t get to "Palm Island" - for those who don’t know where "palm island" is, it’s on the Loch. The race was won by Peter Collings in a GP (although inevitably there was some dispute over handicaps but it was generally agreed that Angus had done a fair calculation for the various participants.

I think Jon was a tad disappointed that more people didn't take part in the afternoon event, but I think the truth of the matter was that after a very satisfying lunch we were all quite happy to sit and chat and soak up the sun! We might just repeat it at some point, but I know quite a few people who did take the opportunity to sail different boats really enjoyed it and of course the wind was just right for cadets to enjoy being out on their own.

Isla Taylor made the most delicious celebratory cake for us showing very topical boats and anchors etc., see the picture; next to her is Ann Moffat whose husband was one of the founder members of the club, followed by 2 lovely ladies we will all recognise - the 2 Janets!
